Today the United Nations commemorates the World Day of Social Justice. In 2007 the General Assembly proclaimed February 20th as the World Day of Social Justice and invited member states to devote the day to promoting national activities around the issues of poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and access to social well-being and justice for all.
We hold in prayer all people who work tirelessly to promote the common good and to help bring about the peace that Jesus promised us was possible. We especially pray for our Dominican brothers and sisters who are involved in promoting peace and justice issues at the United Nations and elsewhere through their service as Dominican Justice Promoters.
